Hi Folkes, I have booked for 19 -26 May on the Lycian Walking Tour, this is my first FT holiday, so any tips would be welcome. Many thanks Maggie |

Hi Maggie A good pair of walking boots, a pole, sunscreen and a waterproof jacket are essential. Cash is king in Turkey so bring sterling to pay for other excursions and meals out. |

Hi Juls am booked on for walking on 28th April 26 , you mentioned bringing Sterling Cash, it says currency is Turkish Lira is it worth getting any? or sahll i stick with Cash and Credit Card Thanks PS |

Credit cards can be used widely but businesses get heavily taxed on them so prefer cash. ATMs also charge approx 8% if you lift out cash. We suggest bringing sterling rather than lira as you will get a much higher exchange rate in resort than the UK. Today it's 60TL to £1. Excursions are priced in sterling and we prefer cash payments, cards incur a 3% charge. Taxis only take cash but public buses take contactless payments. You can pay for any extras at the hotel by card though they do prefer cash. I hope this helps 😊 |
