Hi all, I'm booked onto the Lycian Way Walking trip, 21st Oct. Please can anyone advise what is the best currency to take? - Lire, Euro or Sterling?

Hi Anita. I too am am going on walking holiday at The Forever, flying from Gatwick. I had enquired with FT if there were any excursions, considering so late in season. Colum the MD replied to me regarding spending money. "For excursions and your hotel bar bill , English cash is the best form of payment , there are also ATM machines and you can use a card to pay for some items locally as well"

I have my Turkish Lira & will also take Sterling. Look forward to meeting you on the 21st.

To add to the above, the host likes Sterling cash for trips, and the hotel like it for settling your bar bill, though they will accept a card for that.

Restaurants recommended by the host for nights out tend to do individual bills and accept cards.

You can get by without having a lot of Turkish Lira in cash, but one place you will need it is if you go on the boat trip on Sunday, to pay for any trips you go on.

Hi All

It is best to bring sterling Bank of England notes. They can be exchanged for lira easily in resort. There are several ATMs close to the hotel but they charge as much as 8% per transaction. Cards can be used in restaurants and bars but most places prefer cash. Many shops and the local market will take cash only sterling, lira or euros. There will be excursions/activities offered for the days when the group are not out on organised walks.

Believe there to be around 14 people booked for these dates, although not all we be doing the walking.

Myself & a friend will be flying from Gatwick. See you on the 21st. I'm off to Tunisia before then.

Received my flight details yesterday from FT. Don't know where from & who you flying with. Me, Sunexpress from Gatwick. I have a link from FT & seems can only checkin online 36 hours prior to flight. I would suggest contacting office, if not received anything as yet.
